When it comes to football betting punters and tipsters alike make the same mistake. They look for a big pay day. This is possible as I will show you later but what most people do is they look for accumulator bets (ACCAs) that involve too many outcomes.
Every game you add to an ACCA increases your chance of losing it, people lose sight of this as they see the odds increase and a big pay day on the horizon. Guess what? It never comes.
My method of betting on the football is a little different. Limit the selections and if all it means is that you’re doubling your stake, then take it. Its profit at the end of the day and thats what we all want.
No betting method is going to make you rich overnight, if that’s what you’re looking for then this is not for you.
However, with selective betting and placing the correct bets we can make a consistent profit from the football season.
These are the rules I stick to when betting.
Rule 1: No More Than 5 Selections In A Single Bet
I find its possible to get 5 correct outcomes on the football on a regular basis. Does this mean I place a 5 team ACCA all the time? Not at all.
5 is the very maximum bets I will use in a bet and its rare I do so.
If any bet has me second guessing myself its bet just to cut it.

Rule 2: Don’t Let All Bets Be All Or Nothing
Nothing wrong with placing a bet where you need multiple parts to win, just don’t let this be the only type of bet you use.
The bookies do us a favor in allowing all sorts of bets and combinations of bets to be placed, so why not use them?
Fancy a 4 team ACCA, why not consider a Yankee?
Fancy a Treble? Look at the trixie or even a Patent.
You will see from my winners that I use a mix of bet types that can leave me with cash back in my account if just 1 or 2 parts of a large bet comes in. There are others where we’ve gone the whole hog. Its about not making all bets all or nothing.
Rule 3: Look For Value In The Selections
The main reason people stick too many bets into ACCA is that the outcomes they are predicting have low odds. I look for the value picks from the days football. It doesn’t mean backing the underdog, odds above evens can be found by looking at the different markets on offer.
What we end up with by following these 3 simple rules is bets that don’t fail with one upset and leave us with a loss, but rather bets that have a much higher chance of a return, usually profitable.

Yes I hit a 5-Fold ACCA but that didn’t produce anywhere near as much profit as a 4 selection Yankee bet which didn’t have to be perfect to see a return.
But thats not the end of the profit since the turn of the year.
I’ve also been betting on the FA Cup.
Everyone loves a giant killing don’t they? Its where most ACCA’s go to die.
But I’ve so far managed to end up on top with these winners…

1 Losing Double + 1 Losing Treble were also placed.
By sticking to doubles and trebles I’ve managed to land 2 doubles (from 3) and 2 trebles (from 3) for another £724.50 profit.
Since the turn of the year I’ve made a total profit of £4,585.64 from my betting.
When it comes to staking I use a £1,000 starting bank. I bet 25% per weekend giving me a max spend of £250.00, this means I have 4 weekends worth of betting in my starting bank and would have to go 4 weeks without a winner to see that totally wipe out.
If I don’t hit a winner in 2 weeks I’d be thinking about giving up betting. We have returns available from doubles, if I can’t pick 2 winners on the football then there is something wrong and I shouldn’t be betting, let alone tipping. Then we have the Patents where we only need 1 result to come in to see a return, or the Yankee where we need 2 out of 4 to see a return.
Its for this reason that I don’t recommend a huge bank like some tipsters that cover weeks upon weeks of bets just sat there in your account. I’d expect to use 50% of what you put in. The other 50% is there for other bets like the FA Cup bets.
